I'm Nic Rago, a creative leader and storyteller. I'm currently finishing my Masters in Creative Writing from Dartmouth College.

Check out UDD3R, a digital multi-media magazine that I founded in 2021. The magazine explores ways to exhibit art in an engaging, tactile website.
This is best exemplified in Sundance 2025, digital journalism which blends written sections, images, auditory recordings, and video interviews to dig for the heart of the renowned film festival.
As editor-in-chief, I lead our team through every stage of production, from initial ideas to final finished products. I conduct interviews with featured artists, build the website, edit all written pieces, as well as write creative and journalistic features.

Time for a Cowboy to Dream - a magical realist short story following a man trying to find his sister. It was published in CLAMANTIS‘ Spring 2024 Edition

Private Health Management (PHM) - a private healthcare provider. I wrote the copy manuscript for the entire website.​​​​
ONGOING PROJECTS
These are larger projects, some of which I've been working on for years, which are nearing fruition.​
Sediment​ - a magical realist road novel following two strangers as they road trip across the US. As they travel, they drift through time, exploring personal and historical pasts through a surreal atmospheric style.
Sediment is both my Master's thesis from Dartmouth and a project I've been writing since 2021. It's nearing its 5th full draft, and I am gearing up to start the querying process.

This map follows the protagonists' route.
Blitz's​ - a short film I wrote and directed. The film follows a strung out pizzeria employee confronted by a jaded customer and a bitter ex-employee.

RUIN - a dark fantasy graphic novel subverting the genre's contemporary tropes to produce a nuanced narrative about human faults and ambitions.
Our team consists of two writers and an artist, I serve as the project lead and as a writer. The entire story has been outlined, multiple chapters have a script, character art and paneling has begun.
